The Pavilion at Joanne Merrill Field

In October of 2018, Rivier University broke ground on adding an Athletics Pavilion to the multi-sport turf field t enhance the game-day experience for Raider student-athletes and fans alike. The Pavilion will provide stadium-style seating and facilities for fans, four team locker rooms, an athletic training room with work stations, and a press box which will allow for live stats and video for all events hosted at Joanne Merrill Field.

“The new facilities will contribute to the growth of the University and transform the student experience in many ways, ultimately raising Rivier’s level of play in athletic competition, recruitment and community engagement.” Said Rivier University President Sister Paula Marie Buley, IHM.

Along with the improvements to Raider Diamond, the facilities will support the University’s NCAA Division III athletic programs for Field Hockey, Men’s & Women’s Soccer and Men’s & Women’s Lacrosse. This will also provide an updated venue for the many community groups that utilize the University fields and fitness center facilities for a variety of sporting events, summer camps and the city’s youth of all ages through the Boys & Girls Club, Nashua Youth Baseball/Softball and local schools including Bishop Guertin, Lowell Catholic and more.
