(Derry, N.H.) Rivier University Head Men’s Lacrosse Coach James DeLanoy has been recently inducted into the Pinkerton Academy Hall of Fame. He was inducted on Saturday, September 29th along with four other members associated with the prestigious academy.
As defined on their website, the Pinkerton Academy Hall of Fame seeks to honor outstanding individuals who are or were associated with the Academy and have made exceptional contributions. Selections are made on the following criteria: Recognition by his/her peers for a high level of achievement in his/her field, making significant contributions to that field at the state, national or international levels; Is a role model of Pinkerton’s core values: Courtesy, Respect and Responsibility; Demonstrated leadership, character, and service and has shared his/her expertise and initiatives in the community, state or national level.
Coach DeLanoy is a longtime lacrosse coach who has taught the game to hundreds of student-athletes while instilling respect, trust and commitment. He began his passion for coaching in 1991 when he was a coach with the Derry Youth Lacrosse program. He became an assistant coach at his Alma matter in 1997 where he helped guide the Astros to three state championships. He was invited to become an assistant coach for Team Bermuda in the 2006 World Games in Canada before coaching at Southern New Hampshire University. He was named the Rivier University Head Coach for Men’s Lacrosse prior to the 2012 season, a position he has held since.
