AUBURNDALE, FL: Rivier softball lost to Thomas College this afternoon at the Spring Games in Florida.
THE BASICS:
- Date: 3/10/23
- Score: Thomas 7, Rivier 6
- Records: Rivier (0-9, 0-0 GNAC), Thomas (3-6)
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Rivier was down by two going into the third inning. Raiders' Oliva Couto (Fairhaven, MA) tied the game at 3-3 by hitting a two-run home run to left field, which is her first of the season. In the fourth, Thomas quickly earned the two runs back. Couto knocked the ball into center field in the fifth inning, which scored Sarah Frazier (Londonderry, NH). Rivier added on a run in the six and seventh one of which was generated by Kayla Miles (Londonderry, NH) on a line drive to left field. The Terriers put up a run in the fifth and six innings initiated by a base hit and a sac fly.
- Kelsey Currier went the full seven for Thomas, gaining the win.

- Records: Rivier (0-10, 0-0 GNAC), Catholic (7-5)
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Cardinals made five errors, resulting in only three true hits for Rivier. The Raiders took advantage of the errors and had the lead all the way until the fifth inning. Aubrynn Arcement was up to bat for Catholic when the score read 5-3, Raiders in the lead. She muscled a grand slam to center field for the Cardinals. Rivier was unable to score after this.
- Christina Panagiotopoulos (Lowell, MA) earned a base hit up the middle for Riv today and had a great defensive game in center field, putting away five runners.
- Olivia Stinchcomb took the win for the Cardinals.
