MISSION STATEMENT
The Rivier University Sports Medicine Department provides medical services to the intercollegiate student-athletes of Rivier University while adhering to the University's mission of "transforming hearts and minds to serve the world." The primary services available include the prevention, management, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries. We are committed to using any and all technology and research as it pertains to the most effective treatments possible.
We strive to provide every student-athlete with high-quality sports medicine health care in a professional manner while maintaining the standards set forth by the BOC Standards of Professional Practice and the statutes and regulations of the Division of Professional Licensure in the State of New Hampshire. Our certified athletic trainers are nationally certified under the National Athletic Trainer's Association Board of Certification. Our athletic trainers stay updated with health care administration and procedures.

VISITING TEAM INFORMATION
A certified athletic trainer (ATC) is available at all home contests against Rivier University two hours prior to the start of game time and 30 minutes after the conclusion of the contest. Men's and women's ice hockey games will have a physician or physician assistant present during all competitions.
Please call or email in advance if your team will be traveling without an ATC with specific instructions and any necessary supplies. We will be happy to assist with pre-game taping, as long as a stocked medical kit is provided; treatment will be limited to heat and ice. If an ATC is traveling with the team, they will be able to use modalities such as hydrocollator packs, ultrasound, and electric stimulation. During home contests, water will be provided in the bench area. Ice, an AED, and a splint kit are available if needed. Crutches will be loaned to injured visiting student-athletes on an as-needed basis.
