WINTER HAVEN, FL: Rivier softball lost to Mount Mary University today at the Spring Games in Florida.
THE BASICS:
- Date: 3/6/23
- Score: Mount Mary 5, Rivier 3
- Records: Rivier (0-3), Mount Mary (3-9)
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Mount Mary was able to get on the board in the first inning with two runs generated from Brianna Ecker. Rivier fought back with a single from Olivia Couto (Fairhaven, MA) in the second inning, earning an RBI.
- Scoring started up again in the seventh inning where Blue Angels' B Lupa smacked a homerun to left. Riv's Courtney Marioles (Hudson, NH) and Haley Rapaglia (Methuen, MA) had back-to-back doubles and an earned an RBI apiece in the seventh, forcing the game into extra innings.
- Mount Mary's Kaylee Baker and Marissa Heraly pushed the runs across with a single each. The Raiders were not able to score in the bottom of the eighth.
- Marioles was able to strike out four batters, but was tagged with the loss. Brianna Lupa was the winning pitcher today with four strikeouts.

- Records: Rivier (0-4), Pitt. Greensburg (2-2)
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Haley Rapaglia (Methuen, MA) started off the game with a double for Riv, sending Courtney Marioles (Hudson, NH) home. Sarah Frazier (Lodonderry, NH) earned an RBI by grounding out to second base, putting Riv up 2-0. Pitt answered right away with two runs initiated by Laila Smith and Kylie Karns. Raiders' Christina Louh (Pelham, NH) had a base hit, bumping Olivia Couto (Fairhaven, MA) home.
- In the fifth inning, the Bobcats put up four runs including a double from Smith. Marioles doubled to left field, driving in another Rivier run. Rapaglia reached first on an error which forced in a run for the Raiders.
- Pitt scored their final run of the game in the sixth inning with an RBI from Smith. Rivier gained two runs in the seventh with a base hit from Couto and a pop up to center field from Avry Nelson (Methuen, MA).
- Sydney Greeno (Shirley, MA) takes the loss for the Raiders, striking out two batters. Karns was granted the win, with three strikeouts for the Bobcats.
