Rivier University

Josh Gonzalez enters his first season on the Rivier University men’s basketball staff as an assistant coach in 2026-27.

Prior to joining the Rivier staff, Gonzalez spent three seasons at O’Bryant High School, serving as the junior varsity head coach and varsity assistant. In those roles, he was heavily involved in scouting, practice planning, recruiting and player development. During his time with the program, Gonzalez helped lead O’Bryant to an Elite Eight appearance in 2025 and a State Tournament berth in 2026.

At the AAU level, Gonzalez also coaches with Middlesex Magic, where he has guided teams to 16 tournament championships. His experience at both the high school and AAU levels brings valuable coaching experience and regional connections to the Rivier program.

Gonzalez earned his bachelor’s degree in sport management from Framingham State University in 2023.
