Rivier College (16-10 overall; 6-1 GNAC) defeated cross-town rivals
Daniel Webster College in a non-conference match at The Muldoon on
Tuesday night. The Raiders jumped out to a 11-0 lead in set
one, thanks to the tough serving of senior Laura
Ciummo (3 aces serves), and never looked back in the
match. Senior middle hitter Erin McIver paced the
Raider offense with 8 kills on 19 attempts with only 1 error.
First year player Kate-Lyn Breault was big in the
middle as well as she put down 3 kills and led Rivier with 2
blocks. Freshman setter Caitlin Callahan
directed the Raider offense with 16 assists and chipped in with 3
digs and 3 ace serves. Utility player Danielle
Stoodley was solid with 4 digs, 3 ace serves and 2 kills
while junior Becky Gautreau played well with 4
kills, 4 digs, and steady passing.
