Nashua, NH - Plymouth State University defeated Rivier College
(6-5 overall; 0-0 GNAC) at the Muldoon Health & Fitness Center
in Nashua New Hampshire 3-1. Rivier jumped out to a 1-0 lead
but eventually succumbed to PSU in the next 3 sets. The
Raiders defense tallied 79 digs in 4 sets but couldn't put the ball
away on offense against an equally impressive Plymouth
defense. Leading the way for Rivier was Danielle
Jacques (Derry, NH) who scored her first double double of
the season with 11 kills and 10 digs. The sophomore opposite
hitter had only 1 hitting error on 27 attempts for a .370 hitting
percentage. Senior Colleen Van Cura (E. Lyme,
CT) scooped up a Raider high 21 digs. Setter
Laura Ciummo (Burrillville, RI) dished out 30
assists while Nicole Rodriguez (Newton, MA) served
a Rivier high 5 ace serves. Freshmen Emileigh
Cenedella (Townsend, MA) and Lauren Saccoccio
(Warwick, RI) were solid in the back row with 13 and 16
digs respectively
