Ciummo Reaches Major Milestone
Bristol, RI
Senior Laura Ciummo became the first Raider in
program history to reach 3,000 assists in a career. Ciummo, a
5'6 setter from Burrillville Rhode Island, reached the milestone in
the Raiders 5 set loss to Roger Williams University by tallying 45
assists while directing the Raider offense. Rivier (5-3
overall; 0-0 GNAC) struggled throughout the tournament with
unforced errors forcing them to go into a sudden death set in 2 out
of their 3 matches in the tournament. Sophomore opposite
hitter Danielle Jacques was selected to the All
Invitational Team as she paced the Raiders with 35 kills, 19 digs,
4 blocks and 3 service aces. Senior libero Colleen
Van Cura had a team high 59 digs for Rivier while
sophomore middle hitter Nicole Rodriguez hit for a
consistent .352 tallying 33 kills in the 3 matches.
