Nashua, NH - Rivier College (6-2 GNAC; 15-11 overall) had their
5 game unbeaten streak snapped by GNAC opponent Johnson & Wales
University on Tuesday night. The Raiders came out on fire
once again but couldn't make necessary in game adjustments to
sustain their momentum. RIV played flawless early on, jumping
out to a 4-1 lead in set 1, and never looked back to eventually win
25-8. The following sets were a different story as the
Wildcats made necessary adjustments to take control of the
match. RIV couldn't keep up and eventually went on to drop
three consecutive games to lose the match 1-3.
Junior Danielle Jacques played well with 12
kills on 28 swings with just 3 errors for a .321 hitting
percentage. First year player Kenna
Finlayson put down a team high 14 kills and added 2 blocks
with 3 ace serves while middle hitters Nicole
Rodriguez and Lindsay Chace combined for
11 kills. Setters Caitie Callahan and
Lauren Saccoccio combined for 31 assists, 12 digs,
and 6 service aces while back row players Becky
Gautreau, Emileigh
Cenedella, and Danielle Stoodley
combined for 35 digs.

Rivier will continue their GNAC schedule on Saturday October 24
when they take on the #1 team in the GNAC Emerson College at
10:00am. Rivier will then take on Pine Manor College at
noon.
