WENHAM, MA. -- Gordon cruised to victory in their final home
game of the season, defeating visiting Rivier 6-0 in non-conference
action. Sophomore forward Samantha Neverett had 2 goals to
lead the way for the Scots, finishing with a team-high 9 goals this
season. Brianne Gilbert also added 2 goals.
Gordon took control early with goals by Kristin Lewis and
Gilbert. In the second stanza, a great individual effort by
Neverett put the team up 3-0. Moments later, senior defender
Allison Vigneau slammed in her 2nd goal of the season off a pass
from Veronica Pierce, putting the Scots up 4-0. Gilbert and
Neverett both added late goals to give Gordon their 6-0 final.
Alicia L'Heureux and Arielle Cimmino split time in net for
Gordon. Together they registered 3 saves in posting the
shutout. Rivier's Jenna Beadle had a busy
day in net and posted 12 saves.
Gordon concludes the regular season at 5-14. They are the
#6 seed in The Commonwealth Coast Conference and will travel to
face Nichols College on 11:00am this Saturday in TCCC quarterfinal
play. Rivier concludes their season at 2-11.
