Rivier Seniors Dominate Senior Night

Nashua, NH - In the last regular season game of the year, and the last game of six Rivier senior respective careers, ended in a 6-0 victory over Southern Vermont College tonight in Nashua, NH on the Rivier College campus.

All six senior, Emily Ingram (Litchfield, NH), Kathleen Moran (Pembroke, NH), Heather Brown (Ashburnham, MA), Sabrina Carvalho (Tyngsboro, MA), Lauren Bradshaw (Nashua, NH) and Brittany Puleo (Hudson, NH), were recognized at the start of the game for their commitment to the team and outstanding efforts over their respective careers.  All six got the start for the Raiders in their final game.

It didn't take Rivier long as junior Nina Seher (Nashua, NH) got the Raiders on the board early.  Just 1:19 into the game Seher scored unassisted to get Rivier out to a 1-0 lead.  The Goal wound up being the game winner as the Raiders didn't allow a single shot by the Mountaineers.   Ingram would add to the lead quickly when just 22 seconds later she would add Rivier's second goal.  Freshman Melissa Buccheri (Valley Stream, NY) would make the score 3-0 on her unassisted goal at the 31:00 mark.  Carvalho would round off the first half scoring, her first of two goals, getting a pass from sophomore Meghan Hickey (Hampstead, NH) and beating Mountaineer goalkeeper Amber Mulhern (Bennington, VT).

The second half saw Rivier make some substitutions, getting 21 of the 24 players on the roster into the game.  The subs wouldn't affect the game as the mountaineers still couldn't muster an attack.  Carvalho would score her second goal of the game from an assist by freshman Jillian Pilotte (Londonderry, NH) followed by Meagan Fitzgerald (St. Albans, VT)scoring on a centering pass from Ingram.

Rivier keeper Britt Puleo would not be tested all night and would be replaced late in the game by Heather Lefebvre (Haverhill, MA), who also did not see any shots either as the game finished with the Raiders on top 6-0.  This marks the end of the season for both teams as neither qualified for their respective conference tournament.
