New Haven CT
No-4 Rivier College (22-1 overall; 7-0 GNAC) went through the
motions on Friday night but still was able to defeat Division II
University of New Haven in three straight sets. After an
emotionally draining win over Harvard two nights prior the Raiders
struggled to get into a good flow during the match against the
Chargers. Sophomore Chris Deluca provided a
needed spark for RIV as he had his hand in all areas with 6 digs, 5
kills, 2 blocks, 2 assists, and 1 service ace. Sophomore
Jared Andreozzi led all Raiders with 10 kills
followed by senior Scott Wright, sophomore
Austin Soucy, and junior Matt
Ferreira with 7, 6, and 5 kills respectively. Wright
also led all blockers with 5 blocks. Junior setter
Zach Hansen led all defenders with 12 digs while
freshman libero Chris Convertito played well with
7 digs of his own.
