RIVIER DOWNS EMMANUEL

Nashua NH
No-6 Rivier College kicked off Alumni/Family Weekend with a not so caring and sharing 3-0 sweep of Emmanuel College at The Muldoon on Friday night.  The Raiders put the accelerator to the floor with a high octane offense and a stingy defense to contain a tough Emmanuel team.  Rivier hit for a season high .426 hitting percentage on offense due to great decision making and execution by setter Zach Hansen.  The junior setter dished out 45 assists and worked three Raider hitters into double digits for kills for the second straight match this week.  Matt Ferreira led all Raiders with 16 kills on just 25 swings with only 4 errors for a .480 hitting percentage.  The outside hitter tandem of Jared Andreozzi and Austin Soucy were virtually unstoppable combining for 23 kills and a .555 hitting percentage.  Scott Wright and Drew Corwin rounded off the offense with 7 and 6 kills respectively.  The defense was led by libero Kyle O'Neill and Hansen who both picked up 8 digs followed by defensive specialist Chris Convertito with 6 digs.  Corwin and Soucy chipped in with 5 digs apiece.  Wright led all Raiders with 4 blocks while Corwin, who did all the little things right, had 3 blocks and 2 ace serves.
