Nashua, NH- Rivier fell just short of their first conference win
of the season as they lost to Albertus Magnus 87-80.
Garon Whitney (Dover, NH) tried to ignite his team
with a thunderous dunk in the final minutes of the game, but the
Raiders ran into foul trouble and just ran out of gas at the end of
the game
The Falcons were lead by the sharp shooting of Walden St. Juste
(Hartford, CT) as he went 8-14 from the floor including 6 three
pointers for a total of 24 points. Ray Askew (Hamden, CT) was
a spark off the bench as he had 19 points and grabbed 11 rebounds
in the game. The Falcons also got a solid game out of
Jefferson Lora (Bronx, NY) who went 6-7 from the field and ended up
with 16 points on the afternoon.
Nick Bean (E. Longmeadow, MA) stepped up his
game for the Raiders as he led all scorers in the game with 27
points and played a game high 39 minutes. Senior Luke
Brownell (Hubbardston, MA) had a nice game off the bench
for the Raiders as he recorded a double-double for the game with 12
points and 10 rebounds. Don Poitras (Bow,
NH) had another solid game for the Raiders as he fell a
rebound shy of double-double with 20 points and 9 rebounds.
The Raiders will head to Suffolk University in Boston, MA as
they take on the Rams at 3:00 PM on Monday January 18, 2010.
Meanwhile, the Falcons will take their act on the road to Maine as
they face the Monks of St. Joseph's College at 7:00 PM on the same
day.
