No-10 MIT avenged an earlier
season loss to Rivier College by sweeping the No-6 Raiders (23-7
overall; 10-1 GNAC) in three straight sets in The Muldoon on
Tuesday night. Rivier showed little in consistency and even
less in mental toughness all while being outplayed by the
Engineers in every aspect of the match. The Raiders, who
served a season low 0 aces serves and averaged a season high 6
service errors/set, found themselves constantly trying to overcome
unforced errors all while trying to keep up with a red hot MIT
squad. Jared Andreozzi and Matt
Ferreira were the only Raiders in double
digits in kills with 19 and 11 respectively. Senior
Zach Hansen dished out a team high 42 assists
while classmate Kyle O'Neill had a team high 11
digs and junior John Furka had 3
blocks.
