In their home opener, the Husson University Eagles cruised by
the Rivier Raiders for a 20-1 win. Ben Landry (So., Lewiston,
ME) paced the Eagles with four goals and four assists on the
victory. With the win, Husson improves to 1-4 while Rivier
falls to 0-2.
The Eagles controlled the ball throughout the game against
first-year team Rivier, outshooting the Raiders 84 to 4.
Husson's first home goal of the year came off of
Landry's stick with an assist from Nick Brown (So., Sabattus,
ME). On the game, Husson registered 63 ground balls to
Rivier's 18.
Rivier's Patrick Bruenn (Fy., Meriden,
CT) got on the scoreboard with 3:34 left in the final
period for the Raiders only goal of the game. Bruenn was assisted
by Randy Perrine (Fy., Merrimack, NH). In
goal, Rivier's Matt Besaw (Fy., Glens Falls,
NY) tallied 29 saves.
Rivier plays next on March 27 in their home opener against Maine
Farmington at 1:00 PM.
