Nashua, NH - Junior Natalie Bonvie (Salem, NH)
scored the first ever goal for the during the first half of the
Raiders first ever women's lacrosse game at Rivier College.
The picture shows Bonvie celebrating after scoring both her
historic first goal and the programs first ever goal.
The goal came in the first half of play as the Raiders tied
the game 1-1 against second year team UMaine-Farmington.
Bonvie scored 6 goals during the game to lead the
Raiders while freshman Lauren Brett (Otisfield,
ME) and Jordyn Reyes (Amesbury,
MA) each added 2 goals to keep the Raiders in
the game right down to the wire.
Sara Wilson (Stow, MA), Brittany Gunn (Milford, MA),
Lindsay Martin (Hartford, VT) and Reina Iturralde
(Derry, NH) each added 1 goal for the Raiders as the home
team dropped the game 16-14 to the Beavers of
UMaine-Farington. Wilson, Brett and Bridget Emerson
(Goffstown, NH) all picked up assists during the game
as the Raiders showed that they have the talent in year one to hold
their own and compete from the start.
Head coach Mary Maruszewski was pleased with her teams efforts
on the night and considers the game a success, despite the final
score.
Farmington was led by Ashley Roderigue, who weaved through the
defense for 4 goals on the night with teammates Amie Daniels and
Jessica Allen scoring 3 goals apiece in the Beavers first win of
the season.
The Raiders will take on conference oppoent Lasell College on
Saturday, March 27th in Newton Center, MA. Game time is
slated for 1:00 PM.
