Boston, MA - Senior Monica White (Augusta, ME) picked up her conference-leading 16th win of the season. She was brilliant as she pitched a 1-hit shutout while K'ing 8 Lions. The Raider (20-1; 14-0) bats exploded in the fourth inning as the visitors pushed across six runs. Freshman Mandy Thornton (Hanover, MA) led things off with a base hit. A walk was issued to junior Amanda Ryan (W. Bridgewater, MA) which set the stage for a 2-run triple by Monica White. A single and a stolen base put senior Jess Mellen (Rockland, MA) into scoring position which allowed senior Brenna Campbell (Nashua, NH) to pick up the RBI with a single of her own. Freshman Katie Bachinski (Northfield, MA) stepped to the plate and launched a 2-run homerun to give White more than enough run support. The Blue and Gray decided to end things early with a 7-run fifth inning. RBI singles by Mellen, Campbell, Bachinski and freshman Taylor Cournoyer (Mansfield, MA) did most of the damage. A 2-run double by Ryan followed by an RBI single by White finished things off.
