Nashua, NH - The Raiders (28-1; 22-0) had 5 players finish Game
1 with multiple hits. Freshman Taylor Cournoyer (Mansfield,
MA) led the way going 4 for 4 with a double, triple and 3
RBI. Senior Brenna Campbell (Nashua, NH) and
freshman Katie Bachinski (Northfield, MA) each had
3-hit games. Campbell scored 3 times and knocked in a run while
Bachinski had a double and 2 RBI. Freshman Marissa Mercier
(N. Smithfield, RI) and sophomore Karen Waterman
(Rutland, VT) chipped in with 2 hits apiece. Mercier had 2
RBI while Waterman added a stolen base and RBI. Brenna Campbell
picked up the complete-game victory as she yielded just 2 hits
while K'ing 10.
Game 2 - Riv again had 5 players with multiple hits. This time,
it was freshman Katie Bachinski (Northfield, MA)
who led the way. Bachinski finished a single shy of hitting for the
cycle as she had a double, triple and homerun. She had 3 RBI and
scored 3 runs. Senior Monica White (Augusta, ME),
sophomore Karen Waterman (Rutland, VT) and
freshmen Marissa Mercier (N. Smithfield, RI) and
Taylor Cournoyer (Mansfield, MA) all finished 2
for 3. White finished with a triple and RBI while Mercier added 2
RBI. Senior Alexa Feener (Franklin, NH) tossed a
1-hit gem while striking out 8. She sent the Falcons down in order
in all but 1 inning.
The Raiders are back home Tuesday night, April 20, for
a key conference showdown. Riv welcomes the Monks of St. Joseph's
College to campus for a 6pm start.
