Nashua, N.H. – Three different Rivier College players
scored to lead the visiting Raiders to a 3-1 victory Wednesday over
intracity rival Daniel Webster College Wednesday afternoon at Eagle
Field.
Rivier junior Kristi Davis (Byfield, Mass.)
netted the Raiders' first goal 23 minutes into the game. Senior
Nina Seher (Nashua, N.H.) added a second Raider
goal at the 34 minute mark.
Rivier's final score of the game came only two minutes later
when senior Caroline Zak (Westford, Mass.) netted
a goal off of a corner kick from junior Meghan Hickey (Hampstead,
N.H.).
The Eagles put themselves on the scoreboard 56 minutes into the
match when freshman Sarah Clark (Marlboro, Mass.) passed the ball
to sophomore Lyndze Priebe (Raymond, N.H.) who netted a goal from
20 yards out.
Daniel Webster junior Amy Waller (Berlin, Mass.) made 13 saves
in the contest, including a spectacular stop at the 56 minute mark
that led to the Eagles' goal.
The Raiders' goalkeeper Christine Surber
(Langdon, N.H.) had an easy day in goal making only one save, as
Rivier controlled the tempo for much of the game taking 21 shots to
Daniel Webster's 3.
The Eagles head out on the road to visit Lesley University in
their NECC opener on Saturday beginning at 1:00 p.m.
Rivier visits Lasell in a GNAC matchup on Saturday at 2:30
p.m.
