(Newton, Massachusetts) - In match one of a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) tri-match hosting Mount Ida College women's volleyball was swept 3-0 against visiting Rivier College by scores of 25-15, 25-11 and 25-11 Saturday morning in Newton, Massachusetts on senior day.

The Mustangs fall to an overall record of 12-11 dropping to a league slate of 4-6 while the visitors continue to cruise improving to 15-13 for 2011 and a near perfect conference record of 11-1.

Mount Ida was led offensively by senior captain Rachelle Gilbert (Corunna, IN/Dekalb) with three kills also adding two service aces. Senior setter and captain Cody Fusco (San Francisco, CA/San Francisco Waldorf) dished out six assists. Junior Jennifer Ferreira (Shirley, MA/Ayer) tallied six digs.

The visiting Raiders were led by junior hitter Kenna Finlayson (Derry, NH) and sophomore Nicole Peacock (Warwick, RI) with 13 kills a piece. Senior setter Lauren Saccoccio (Warwick, RI) dished out 31 assists while defensive specialist senior Caitie Callahan (Dedham, MA) added 11 digs. Raider sophomore Nicole Boucher (Windham, NH) notched an impressive five service aces.
