(Nashua, NH) The Rivier College Raider Women's Soccer program finished the 2011 season on a high note as they defeated visiting Pine Manor College, 7-0 in GNAC Soccer action.
Rivier (7-10-1) received a solid 44 shot on goal performance from their offense. Seven different Raiders capitalized to record goals in the win.
Senior Monica Rivera (Nashua, NH) scored the first goal of the game as she connect on a pass from classmate Meghan Hickey (Hampstead, NH). Hickey would then record her third goal of 2011 when she shot one past the Pine Manor goalkeeper - senior Kristi Davis (Byfield, MA) was awarded the assist. Sophomores Hillary Hee (Colchester, VT) and Rebecca Wickens (Tygnsboro, MA) would net goals to round out the four goal first half total.
Davis would score her first goal of the season to begin things in the 2nd half as she buried a pass from sophomore Christa Naso (Londonderry, NH). Sophomores Brittany Balkus (Milbury, MA) and Morgan Greene (Acworth, NH) scored goals about a minute apart late in the game to make it a 7-0 final.
Pine Manor goalkeeper Natasha Kopystynsky played well in the loss as she stopped 36 shots. The trio of sophomore Cassandra Brown (Somersworth, NH), Hickey and freshman Mary Donovan (Milford, NH) combined to stop all four Gator shots on net.
