Raiders Take Two From Falcons

Nashua, NH - #10 Rivier College (10-1 GNAC; 27-8 overall) defeated GNAC opponent Albertus Magnus College twice by the score of 3-0 to improve to 10 wins in the conference. Rivier cruised in the home and home series in 5 of the 6 sets to easily handle AMC and improve to 27 wins on the season.

Freshmen Sam Kazlas (Allentown, PA) led all hitters with 23 kill and an impressive .645 hitting percentage. The 6'4 outside hitter also chipped in with 3 ace serves and 5 digs. First year utility player Alex Wezelis (Churchville, NY) showed his versatility scoring a team high 6 blocks while registering 9 digs, 7 assists, 5 kills, and 2 service aces. Rookie setter Cameron Walker (Costa Mesa, CA) dished out 52 assists and put down 11 kills while classmate Steven Coulson (Huntington Beach, CA) scored 9 kills and 6 service aces. Freshmen Terence Matatall (Danville, NH) and Daniel Elitharp (Eastport, NY) put away 9 and 7 kills respectively to go along with their combined 12 digs.

Rivier will host Johnson & Wales University on Tuesday 3/22 at 7:00pm. If the Raiders win this important GNAC match-up they will host the GNAC Championships on Saturday 3/26.
