Rivier Drops Final Regular Season Game, Still Make Playoffs

Nashua, NH - Rivier College women's lacrosse dropped their final regular season contest to GNAC foe Mount Ida College, but the teams now 3-4 record in GNAC play is good enough to put the Raiders into the playoffs as the #6 seed in just their second year of competition.

Rivier outshot Mount Ida 29-17, but 15 saves by goal keeper Katherine Chousa kept the visitors in the game and ultimately pushed them to the win.  The Mustangs finished the regular season with a 4-4 GNAC record, one spot ahead of the Raiders in the standings.

Rivier goal leader Rebecca Wickens (Tyngsboro, MA) continued her effectiveness on the offensive end, scoring a team high 3 goals in the loss along with 1 assist.  Hannah Wyatt (Merrimack, NH) added two goals for Rivier and Jessica Amaral (E. Providence, RI) added 1 goal.  Kiera Garvey (Chelmsford, MA) and Natalie Bonie (Salem, NH) each contributed with 1 assist each.  goal keeper Caleigh Bertolaccini (CHelmsford, MA) took the loss for Rivier, allowing 8 goals and making 5 saves on the day.

Ebony Mills and Daniell Chuba each scored 3 goals for the Mustangs and Jen Thompson added two goals in the win.  Chuba and Jeileen Rivera each chipped in with an assist.

Rivier will take on #3 seeded Emerson College in the first round of the playoffs on Wednesday, April 27th at 6:00 PM in Boston, MA.  Meanwhile, the #5 seeded Mustangs will take on the #4 seed, Simmons College, on the same day.  The winners will move on to the semi-finals on Friday against the top two seeds, #1 Norwich University and #2 Lasell College.
