Henniker, N.H.— New England College's Sean Walsh (Kingston, Mass.) would net the lone goal of the evening leading the Pilgrims past the Rivier College Raiders 1-0 in men's soccer action Monday evening.
With the win the Pilgrims even their overall record at 3-3, while the loss drops the Raiders to 0-4 overall.
New England College would waste no time getting on the board as Sean Walsh would put in a pass from Sean Sullivan (Sagamore Beach, Mass.) just 2:13 into the opening half.
Neither team would score the remainder of the first half and the entire second half as the Pilgrims finished the game out shooting the Raiders 35-1.
Picking up the win for NEC was Robert Millard (Barrington, R.I.) who finished the game with one save. In goal for Rivier College was Matthew St. Peter (Colchester, Vt.) who finished with an impressive 18 saves.
New England College returns to action on Wednesday, Sept. 21 when they open conference play on the road at Colby-Sawyer College. Rivier College will square off against GNAC opponent Lasell College on Saturday, Sept. 24 in Nashua.
