(Boston, MA) The Rivier University Women's Volleyball team captured their 7th Great Northeast Athletic Conference victory this evening as they defeated the Rams, 3-1 inside of Regan Gymnasium on the campus of Suffolk University.
Rivier (15-9 overall, 7-1 GNAC) received stellar efforts from juniors Nicole Boucher (Windham, NH) and Jessica Amaral (East Providence, RI). Boucher was an offensive force as she laced 11 kills to lead the team and a .391 hitting percentage. Amaral was a defensive presence as she recorded 18 digs but she was effect from the service line as she knocked down 7 service aces.
14 different Raiders got involved in the win including freshman Samantha LaRosa (Salem, NH), who had 10 assists and junior Morgan Peck (Sudbury, MA) who contributed with 2 kills and a dig.
Senior Kenna Finlayson (Derry, NH) appeared in 2 sets averaging 4 kills and 2 digs per set. Junior Nicole Peacock (Warwick, RI) also saw the floor for 2 sets and had 7 kills and 2 total blocks.
The Raiders will return to action tomorrow night as they host Framingham State University in a non-conference matchup at the Muldoon Gymnasium. Game time is set for 7pm and the game can be viewed live here on RivierAthletics.com
