(Nashua, NH) Junior Tom Poitras connected on 11-of-17 as he helped the Raiders to a 60-46 victory over Norwich University this afternoon in front of about 100 people inside the Muldoon Gymnasium.

The Bow, New Hampshire native registered 22 points and collected 6 rebounds for Rivier. Classmate Nick Walch (Dedham, MA) earned another double-double as he had 10 points and 10 rebounds. Senior Garon Whitney (Dover, NH) and freshman Kywane Thomas (Hartford, CT) each recorded 11 points in the win.

Rivier, now 7-9 overall and 3-6 in the GNAC, held a substantial 17 point lead at halftime and never looked back.

Norwich was led by sophomore Evan Tullar (Chelsea, VT) who shot 7-for-11, including a three pointer, for 15 points. Junior Tom McDonald (Groton, MA) added 7 points off the bench for the Cadets who now fall to 5-11 overall and 2-7 in the GNAC. Senior Josh Cabrera (Providence, RI) was limited to just three points on the afternoon and is now just 16 points away from 1,000 in his career.

The Raiders will travel to Lasell College on Monday evening for their next contest while next up for Norwich will be the Rams of Suffolk University. Both squads will play on Monday night with games beginning at 7pm.
