(Nashua, N.H.) The Rivier University Field Hockey team dropped a tough Great Northeast Athletic Conference contest this afternoon to visiting Saint Joseph's College, 6-0 at Raider Field. The loss sends the Raiders' overall record to 0-4 and this is the team's first GNAC loss of the season. Saint Joseph's improves to 2-0 and 1-0 in the GNAC.
The Monks unleashed a total of 31 shots in the contest with 18 of them landing on net. Rivier senior goalkeeper Makenzie Flagg (Shirley, Mass.) made 11 saves while her counterpart Emma Astbury did not see a shot on net.
Saint Joseph's received two goals from Bailey Cutler and single tallies from Amanda Celata, Effie Drew, Hayley Winslow and Kelsey Dumond in the six goal outburst.
The Raiders will enjoy a few days off as they will get set to battle Fitchburg State University on Wednesday afternoon.
