Field Hockey Releases 2022 Schedule

NASHUA, NH: The Rivier field hockey team released its 2022 schedule this morning. Head coach Maura Ellins looks to continue growing and building the program after making it to the playoffs for the second time in program history last season. The Raiders finished 8-9 overall, with a 6-5 conference record, which gave them the seventh seed going into the postseason.

This season will consist of 16 games, with a seven home, nine away game split. Of the 16 contests, 11 will be GNAC matchups with five non-conference games. The Raiders season opener will come on Saturday, September 3rd, against New England College at 11:00 AM. Their first home non-conference opponent will be Westfield State on Tuesday, September 20th, at 7:00 PM. Plymouth State, Framingham State, and Fitchburg State will round up the remaining non-conference opponents.

Field Hockey's home and conference opener will be game two of the season against Albertus Magnus on Wednesday, September 7th, at 7:00 PM. After the Albertus game, the Raiders will play the 2nd through 4th seeded teams from the prior season. That stretch will start with the 3rd seeded St. Joe's on September 10th, followed by the 4th seeded Simmons University on September 17th, and the 2nd seeded Colby-Sawyer on October 1st. Finally, Rivier will play the first-time defending Champions Johnson & Wales on October 8th at 1:00 PM. You won't want to miss the matchups on October 16th against Dean College and October 19th against Anna Maria.
