NASHUA, NH: Rivier women's lacrosse lost to Elms College this evening in conference play on Joanne Merrill Field.
THE BASICS:

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- In the first quarter Elms put away six goals, while Rivier scored three. Sarah Lachance (Chelmsford, MA) scored the first goal of the game for the Raiders on a free position shot. Elise Paier of the Blazers then recorded two goals in a row, on the second the assist was granted to Jackie Cronin. Rachel Hinkley (Swedesboro, NJ) contributed with a Riv goal at 4:53 on the clock. Just under 30 seconds later Taylor Borla added on a goal for Elms. Lachance snuck by the Blazers defenders to collect her second goal of the game, to tie the score at 3-3. Elms' Paier tossed in her third goal of the game and Borla earned her second goal. Borla then found Anna-Elise Pikul by the net who recorded a Blazers goal.
- Rivier outscored Elms in the second quarter 4-2. Bailey Carroll (Nashua, NH) scored at 12:36 on the clock for Riv. Paier of Elms answered back with a goal and the assist was credited to Pikul. Cassie Hemmerdinger (Pelham, NH) found the back of the net for the Raiders at 11:11. Rivier's Caitlin Newell (Litchfield, NH) netted two goals in a row with both assists granted to Lachance. Borla fired in the final goal of the half with an assist from Pikul for Elms.
- In the third quarter the Raiders were only able to score one goal, while the Blazers collected six. Elms' goals were earned by Cronin, Paier on a player up advantage from Borla, Paier on a free position shot, Pikul with two unassisted, and Paier with her third of the quarter from Pikul. Rivier's goal was scored by Lachance on a player down disadvantage.
- In the fourth quarter, the Raiders battled with Elms and outscored them 5-2. Ashely Wilder (Milford, NH) ran by the Blazers' defenders to secure a Rivier goal. Cronin of Elms scored on a free position shot and a player up advantage. Lachance launched in a Raiders goal, chipping away at the score. Wilder scored her second goal of the game for Rivier on a player up advantage with an assist from Lachance. Blazers' Pikul scored their final goal of the game with an assist from Greta Frankwicz. The Raiders final two goals were earned by Lachance, the first with an assist from Newell and the second on a free position shot.
- Lindsey Kruger (New Bedford, MA) of Rivier collected 15 saves today. Gianna Liquori saved 10 shots for Elms, taking the win.
