NASHUA, N.H. – In a rematch of the final contest before winter break, Rivier returned to home ice on Friday night to face off against Potsdam, falling by a final of 2-0 at Conway Arena.
The Raiders skidded to 4-6-3 overall while Potsdam evened out its overall record at 6-6-0.
The Bears scored a goal in each of the first two periods, which would prove to be enough as goaltender Hannah Barrett pitched a 16-save shutout for the visitors. In the opposite crease, Rachel Symmes made 32 saves for the Raiders.
Rivier went 0-for-3 on the powerplay in the setback.
With Saturday's game against Potsdam being cancelled due to expected inclement weather, Rivier will rest up for a Tuesday night showdown against Anna Maria in Easter Collegiate Hockey Alliance (ECHA) action with puck drop set for 6:10 p.m. from Buffone Ice Arena.
