PAXTON, Mass. – The Rivier field hockey team soundly defeated Anna Maria in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) road contest, 8-0, on Saturday afternoon at Caparso Field.

Graduate student Kayla Miles broke the program's all-time career points record with a one-goal, one-assist output to now sit at 56. The previous record of 54 was held by Linsey Roth '19.

The win propelled the Raiders to a record of 5-8 (3-5 GNAC) while the AMCATS remained winless through 11 contests.

Miles broke the scoring open 5:38 into the contest on a feed from sophomore Brianna Spinelli. Spinelli would score with help from Miles over six minutes later to double the Raiders' lead before the end of the first quarter.

Senior Jacklyn O'Connor added an unassisted goal 7:40 into the second half to make it a three-goal lead. Rivier would add two more goals in the third frame, with seniors Hailey Morse and Madison Bovill striking to make it 5-0 in favor of the Raiders.

Junior Reilly Swislosky scored early in the fourth before Bovill tallied the final two goals of her hat trick to secure the 8-0 victory.

Senior keeper Kylie Coupal made two saves in goal over the opening 45 minutes to earn her fourth win of the campaign. Junior Lily Gifford made three stops in the fourth quarter to secure the combined shutout.

Rivier outshot Anna Maria, 46-9, with 36 shots landing on target. The Raiders earned 12 penalty corners to the AMCATS' one.

The Raiders will return home to Merrill Field for a GNAC matchup against New England Col. on Wednesday, Oct. 16 at 7:00 p.m.
