NASHUA, N.H. – The Rivier women's soccer team drew Suffolk on Wednesday evening, 0-0.
With the scoreless tie the Raiders sit at 6-3-3 (6-0-1 GNAC) with the Rams sat at 6-2-2 (0-2-0 CNE).
The Rams were on the offensive for much of the opening half, putting three shots on goal and winning the possession battle. Despite their efforts, the Raiders back line held Suffolk scoreless throughout the first half.
Suffolk would turn up the pressure in the opening minutes of the second half. Much like in the first, Suffolk would control the attacking zone by adding two more shots on goal. The Raiders would counter in the later minutes, adding three shots of their own with one landing on target.
Suffolk finished with 13 shots to Riv's four. Junior Bri Nugent totaled seven saves in the match.
The squad travels north to Standish, Maine on Saturday, Oct. 5 to take on the Monks of Saint Joseph's (Me.). Kick-off is set for 1:30 p.m. at the SJC Athletic Complex.
