ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The Rivier women's ice hockey team fell to nationally-ranked Nazareth on the road in Friday night's season opener at the Tim Horton's Iceplex, 5-0.
The loss handed the Raiders a record of 0-1-0 while the Golden Eagles started their campaign 1-0-0.
Nazareth lit the lamp in all three periods, all even-strength goals.
Rivier senior netminder Rachel Hinkley made 60 saves in the setback.
The Raiders will continue their Empire State road trip with a Saturday afternoon matchup at SUNY Potsdam. Puck drop is set for 3:00 p.m. from Maxcy Ice Arena.
