KEENE, N.H. – The Rivier women's soccer team dropped its season-opening contest to Keene St. on Friday night at Dr. Ron Butcher Field, 3-1.

The Owls were first on the board after finding the back of the net in the 34th minute. Less than five minutes later the hosts would double their lead by way of a breakaway goal to take a 2-0 lead heading into halftime.

Keene St. would keep the pressure on as they added a third goal in the 64th minute before the Raiders notched their first goal of the season by way of the left boot of sophomore attacker Camryn Blatchford as she found the bottom right corner of the net. The opponents would trade opportunities for the rest of the game to no avail and finished the contest with a 3-1 victory in favor of the Owls.

The Raiders continue their road trip with a visit to Plymouth St. on Monday, Sept. 2 at 12:00 p.m. at Panther Field.
