FRANKLIN, Mass. – The Rivier field hockey squad was defeated by Dean in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) road game on Wednesday at Grant Field by a final score of 2-0.
The Raiders fell to 2-3 (1-1 GNAC) in the setback while the host Bulldogs improved to 3-4 (1-1 GNAC).
Emily Yazzetti scored a goal in each half to propel Dean to its first conference win of its campaign.
Both sides fired 14 shots, with the Bulldogs edging the Raiders 12-6 in shots on target.
Both Rivier goalkeepers, Lily Gifford and Kylie Coupal, saw time in the game, with Gifford ultimately taking the loss.
The Raiders continue their GNAC schedule at JWU (Providence) on Saturday, Sept. 21 at 1:00 p.m. at the Scotts Miracle-Gro Athletic Complex.
