NASHUA, N.H. – The Rivier men's soccer team shutout Mitchell, 5-0, in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action on Saturday afternoon at Joanne Merrill Field. 

With the win, the Raiders improved to 3-4-6 on the season (3-2-2 GNAC), while the Mariners fell to 1-11-1 (0-6-1 GNAC). 

HOW IT HAPPENED 

• Sophomore Alejandro Quezada opened the scoring for the Raiders from a penalty kick in the 21st minute. 

• First-year David Pereira added a pair of goals for the Raiders to start the second half, with assists from junior Matthews Ferreira and first-year Vincent Arsenov. 

• Arsenov earned another assist four minutes later, connecting with sophomore Luigi Ferreira. 

• The Raiders capped the scoring when junior Andrew Lennox found sophomore Kamar Matthew-Murray connecting off a corner from Quezada, 5-0. 

• Junior goalkeeper Logan Clough earned his second clean sheet of the season, recording two saves. 

BOX SCORE BREAKDOWN 

• Rivier held the advantage on corner kick opportunities, 11-1. 

• The Raiders outshot the Mariners, 30-4.
