Morrier Makes History in 3-0 Win Over Chargers

NASHUA, N.H. – The Rivier women's soccer team defeated Colby-Sawyer 3-0 in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) clash on Wednesday night at Joanne Merrill Field. In the first half, sophomore Leah Morrier became the program's single-season leading goal scorer since 2003.

With the victory, the Raiders improved to 10-4-2 (8-1-1 GNAC), while the Chargers dropped to 6-8-4 (4-5-2 GNAC).

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Morrier buried the record-breaking goal in the 31st minute off a feed from graduate student Samantha Franks.
  • Just three minutes later, Morrier connected with first-year Bianca Casna to double the Raiders' lead heading into halftime. With the assist, Morrier also broke the record for most assists in a season (8), previously held by sophomore Nadia Laxa (7)
  • Just shy of the 80-minute mark, Drea Dwyer found the back of the net off a feed from Morrier.
