NASHUA, N.H. - The Rivier field hockey team closed out the 2025 regular season with a 3-1 loss against non-conference opponent Mount Holyoke on Tuesday evening at Joanne Merrill Field.
With the result, the Raiders dropped to 5-13, while the Lyons improved to 7-10.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The first half was a defensive battle, capped off in the final seconds when GNAC defender of the week, Sophia Quinlan, denied the Lyons' best look with a key defensive save off a corner.
- Mount Holyoke found the back of the cage just under two minutes into the second quarter, to take a 1-0 lead into the break.
- The Lyons doubled their lead mid-way through the third quarter.
- Mount Holyoke extended their lead to 3-0 early in the fourth quarter.
- First-year Mary Kelley finished a feed from senior Reilly Swislosky to cut the deficit to 3-1 just over a minute later.
