BOSTON, Mass.- The Rivier women's soccer team suffered its first loss in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) play, 3-1, to Emmanuel (Mass.), Saturday afternoon at Roberto Clemente Field.
With the result, the Raiders dropped to 5-4-2 overall (4-1-1 GNAC), while the Saints improved to 6-2-2 (5-0-1 GNAC).
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Saints found the back of the net just over a minute into the match.
- Emmanuel extended its lead midway through the first half, scoring back-to-back goals in the 26th and 45th minutes to take a 3-0 advantage into halftime.
- The Raiders' lone goal came in the 86th minute when Samantha Franks converted a feed from Leah Morrier to put the Raiders on the board, 3-1.
BOX SCORE BREAKDOWN
- Senior goalkeeper Bri Nugent was solid in the net, recording seven saves.
- Emmanuel held the advantage in shots, 18-3.
- The Saints held the edge on corner kicks, 9-1
