NEW LONDON, Conn. – The sixth-seeded Rivier baseball team was eliminated from Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) postseason play with losses to Pod B opponents No. 2 Mitchell, 23-2, and No. 3 Lasell, 6-4, on Saturday at Alumni Field.
The Raiders closed their 2025 campaign with an overall record of 15-19.
Rivier will look to build off this year's postseason berth when it returns to action in 2026.
Mitchell 23, Rivier 2 (7 inn.)
Mitchell got out to an 8-0 lead in the top of the first inning and never looked back en route to a Pod B victory over the Raiders.
Senior Jacob Boudreau went 4-for-4 at the dish with a run scored. Classmate Kyle Hsu went 2-for-3 with an RBI.
Sophomore Landon Pearson closed out the final 2.1 innings on the bump, allowing one hit while striking out four Mariners.
Lasell 6, Rivier 4
After falling behind by one run in the top of the first, Rivier responded with a three-run bottom half, highlighted by a two RBI single up the middle off the bat of junior Dylan Aliberti.
The Lasers were able to get one back in the next half inning before an RBI double from junior Nathan Innerfield gave the Raiders their two-run cushion back.
In the top of the fourth, Lasell struck for three runs, including a two RBI triple from CJ Mills to give the Lasers their first lead since the first inning, 5-4.
In the top of the seventh, Lasell knocked in an additional run to distance from the Raiders who were unable to produce a comeback in the final three innings.
Senior Luis Tejada and first-year Jayce Martinez each drew two walks to score one run apiece.
Junior Jake O'Connor pitched six innings, allowing five runs (four earned), allowing eight hits while striking out five.
