Harper to Step Down as Rivier’s Director of Athletics

NASHUA, N.H. Jonathan Harper, Director of Athletics at Rivier University, is stepping down from his position to pursue other opportunities in college athletics, Sister Paula Marie Buley, IHM, President, announced Tuesday.

"The University thanks Jonathan for his contributions to Raiders athletics, especially in the areas of student-athlete experience and technology," says Sister Paula. "We wish him success in his future endeavors."

Since joining Rivier in 2022, Harper has overseen new levels of success, highlighted by 10 postseason appearances in the 2024-25 academic year. He also upgraded the university's video streaming platform, Rivier.tv, which now features multiple camera angles and live commentary.

Harper's tenure saw significant facility upgrades, highlighted by a complete redesign of the competition gym with new basketball and volleyball courts and enhanced varsity locker rooms. He also supported several impactful fundraising efforts, including the annual Raiders Athletics Challenge.

Dr. Hank Parkinson, Rivier's Vice President for Student Experience, will serve as interim director. A national search for Harper's successor is underway.
