NASHUA, N.H. – After being selected to finish second in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Preseason Poll, the Rivier University men's soccer team will open the 2026 season on Tuesday, Sept. 1, at Fitchburg St. Kickoff is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. at the Elliot Field Athletic Complex.

Rivier finished the season with a 9-5-7 overall record and an 8-2-2 mark in conference play, posting its best GNAC record in nearly two decades.

Under the leadership of current third-year head coach Jon Cross, the Raiders earned the No. 2 seed in the GNAC Tournament and advanced to the semifinals after defeating No. 7 Emmanuel (Mass.) in a penalty shootout in the quarterfinal round. Rivier then topped No. 6 Norwich to secure a spot in the championship match.

The Raiders faced top-seeded Saint Joseph (Conn.) in the GNAC Championship, falling just short in a 3-2 contest. The appearance marked the program's first conference title game berth since 1997.

Alejandro Quezada led the team with 15 points, totaling six goals and three assists, earning All-Conference honors. Defender Luigi Ferreira earned All-Region selection, and the tandem of Tanner Keenan and David Pereira filled out the stats sheet in their first-year campaigns, combining for 27-point on 11 goals and five assists.
