Muchemore ’24 and Dufries ’25 Set to Serve as Graduate Assistants

NASHUA, N.H. – Recent graduates and former student-athletes at Rivier University, Alexa Dufries '25 and Hannah Muchemore '24, have been appointed Graduate Assistants for the athletic department ahead of the 2025-26 academic year.

Both Dufries and Muchemore will work in the Athletic Communications office. At the same time, Muchemore will assist the women's basketball and softball teams.

Dufries and Muchemore both served as student-workers for the athletics department throughout their four years at Rivier. In the spring of 2023, both completed internships in the athletic communications office, assisting with website management, broadcast production, and inputting live stats.

In addition to her contributions to the athletics department, Muchemore was a four-year member of the women's basketball team, making three Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) All-Academic teams. The Nashua, N.H. native started in 70 games for the Raiders, totaling 888 points, 354 assists, 300 rebounds, and 207 steals.

Muchemore traded in her basketball shoes for cleats in the spring, suiting up for the softball program. She started in all 36 games she appeared in, leading the team with a .405 batting average, 1.000 OPS, 51 hits, and 36 RBI.

"Saying 'yes' has never been easier," said Muchemore. "The Rivier Athletics Department has changed my life, and to be able to give back and work with such a great group of people that gave me the most valuable and amazing experience was a no-brainer. I am excited for this opportunity, and I cannot wait to enhance the student-athlete experience for future student-athletes."

During her undergraduate years, Dufries played a key role in supporting the athletic communications staff, contributing as a statistician and assisting with roster and schedule management, writing press releases, and curating event programs. Additionally, she was a key component in the training and development of several student-workers.

In addition to her commitment as a student-worker and intern, Dufries was also a four-year member of the women's basketball team. The two-time GNAC All-Academic Team honoree started in 79 games for the Raiders, totaling 1,192 points, 397 rebounds, 144 assists, and 107 steals.

"I am thrilled to continue to be a part of the Rivier Athletics Department," said Dufries. "It was an easy 'yes' when given the opportunity due to the experience I had as a student-athlete. Rivier is a place where the coaches and staff truly care for their student-athletes and want to see them succeed. Thank you to everyone who has supported me to get here, and I cannot wait to get started!"

Muchemore and Dufries both earned bachelor's degrees in Sport Management from Rivier University, with Dufries also completing a minor in Business Management. They are currently pursuing their MBA in Management at Rivier.
