BOSTON, Mass. – The Rivier men's soccer team battled to a 1-1 draw with the Emmanuel (Mass.) College Saints Saturday afternoon in a conference clash.
With that result, the Raiders moved to 0-2-3 (0-1-1 GNAC) as the Saints stand at 1-0-4 (0-0-1 GNAC).
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Saints got on the board early in the match, striking home a penalty shot in the eighth minute
- Sophomore Matthews Ferreria answered back for the Raiders at the 25-minute mark, capitalizing on a rebound opportunity to even out play 1-1
- Sophomore Aidan Gulli gave Rivier a chance late, but would be turned away leaving the match level at 1-1 after 90 minutes
BOXSCORE BREAKDOWN
- Ferreira led the offensive pace for the Raiders with three shots on goal, followed by sophomore Luiggi Ferriera with two shots on target
- Rivier outshot the Saints 11-3, including an 8-1 edge in shots on goal

The Raiders head to Alumni Field for a non-conference battle with the Owls of Westfield St. Wednesday, Sept. 17. Kickoff is set for 7:00 Wednesday evening.
