NASHUA, N.H.- The Rivier field hockey fell to the Thomas College Terriers, 4-0, in its home opener on September 7 at 1:00 pm at Joanne Merrill Field.
With the result, the Raiders fell to 0-3-0, and the Terriers improved to 3-1-0.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Terriers controlled the pace of play throughout the first quarter, outshooting the Raiders 5-0 and earning six corners. Despite the pressure, Rivier's defense held strong, keeping the game scoreless.
- In the second, Thomas found the back of the net three times, taking a 3-0 lead going into the half.
- Senior goalkeeper Lily Gifford faced five shots in the third, but the Terriers slipped one through to extend their lead to 4-0.
- Despite chances by both squads, the fourth quarter saw no goals, securing the game for Thomas (Me.).
BOXSCORE BREAKDOWN
- The Terrier's outshot the Raiders, 21-6.
