Men's Lacrosse Downs Curry, 11-3

NASHUA, N.H. –  The Rivier men's lacrosse team downed non-conference opponent Curry College 11-3 on Saturday afternoon on Joanne Merrill Field.

With the result, the Raiders improved to 2-0, while the Colonels started their season 0-1.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • After the opening 15 minutes, the score remained deadlocked at 0-0 with shots even at six apiece.
  • Sophomore Tyler Zehr broke the stalemate 9:19 into the second frame off a feed from sophomore Liam Conley.
  •  Just 2:03 later, senior Sean Callinan doubled the Raiders' lead with an assist from first-year Aiden Conley.
  • Aiden Conley netted one of his own with 3:18 remaining in the half to extend Rivier's advantage to 3-0.
  • On a man-up opportunity 1:22 later, first-year Andrew Nee found the back of the net, connecting with Callinan.
  • With five seconds left in the frame, Aiden Conley tallied his second of the contest, sending the Raiders into the break with a 5-0 lead.
  • First-year Conor Walsh pushed the lead to six at the 8:37 mark of the third, linking up with junior Cole Ronalter.
  • The Conley brothers connected for the seventh goal as Aiden buried a feed from Liam.
  • Callinan recorded his second of the day with 2:22 left in the third, finishing an assist from Nee.
  • Zehr opened the fourth-quarter scoring, connecting with Nee to make it 9-0.
  • Curry got on the board at the 9:59 mark of the fourth.
  • Liam Conley blasted home his second of the game with 5:23 remaining.
  • The Colonels added their second with 3:41 left in the period.
  • First-year Colin Foley joined the scoring to restore the nine-goal advantage at 11-2.
  • Curry closed out the scoring in the final seconds to bring the game to an 11-3 final.
BOX SCORE BREAKDOWN
  • Sophomore Jake Lydon made seven saves, and junior Lucas Fitts made two.
  • Foley caused a team-high five turnovers.
  • Senior Owen McDuffie picked up a team-high nine groundballs.
  • Adien Conley led the Raiders in points with four.
