SALEM, Mass. – The Rivier men's ice hockey team was outpaced by Salem St., 6-1, in Massachusetts Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) play on Thursday evening at the Rockett Arena.
With the result, the Raiders moved to 2-17-1 (2-7-0 MASCAC), while the Vikings moved to 6-12-3 (4-4-2 MASCAC).
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Vikings knocked in three goals in the opening 20 minutes of play.
- Rivier first-year Evan Miles cut the deficit to two at the 4:28 mark of the second frame, finishing a feed from classmate Payton Kender.
- Salem State answered with two goals late in the period, one being on a power play, to extend its lead to 5-1 heading into the final frame.
- The Vikings capped the scoring with an empty net goal in the third, pushing the final margin to 6-1.
