Baseball Rallies Past Delaware Valley For First Win of 2026

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. –  The Rivier baseball team defeated non-conference opponent Delaware Valley, 10-6, on Tuesday afternoon at Crosley Field to secure its first victory of the 2026 season!

With the result, the Raiders improved to 1-3, while the Aggies dropped to 5-4.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Aggies jumped out to an early 5-0 lead before the Raiders got on the board in the fourth inning.
  • After a base hit and a stolen base, a balk moved senior Dylan Aliberti to third, and he raced home on a wild pitch to spark the Raiders.
  • Rivier cut the deficit to two in the fifth after three consecutive walks loaded the bases. Aliberti ripped a single up the middle, driving in senior Owen Medlock and junior Colton Colleran to make it 5-3.
  • The Raiders kept the momentum going in the sixth as junior Liam Stott reached on an error, followed by first-year Ian McDonald, who doubled down the right-field line. Both advanced on a passed ball, bringing Stott home to make it 5-4.
  • Medlock then drilled a ground-rule double to left field, scoring McDonald to even the game at 5-5.
  • Still with no outs, first-year Kian Littlefield drew a walk and stole second. With two Raiders in scoring position, junior Nathan Innerfield launched a deep ball to right field, driving in both runners to give Rivier a 7–5 lead.
  • The Raiders added insurance in the seventh. Stott led off with a base hit, and McDonald followed with a double, while Medlock drew a walk to load the bases. Littlefield delivered an RBI single to push the lead to 8-5.
  • McDonald later scored on a wild pitch to make it 9-5.
  • Junior Sebastien Reis capped the inning with a sacrifice fly that brought Medlock home, extending the Raiders' lead to 10-5.
  • The Aggies added one more run late, but Rivier held on for the 10–6 victory.
